About Dino Bros

Dino Bros is a single-player puzzle platformer developed by Martin Magni / Fancade and published by Martin Magni and Poki. Rather than testing fast reflexes, the game revolves around spatial coordination: you simultaneously guide two dinosaur brothers of different heights—a taller pink dinosaur and a shorter yellow dinosaur—through compact stages to collect every coin and reach the exit.

What is Dino Bros?

Although the presence of two heroes leads some web portals to group it with cooperative multiplayer titles, Dino Bros is strictly a solo experience. You can play it directly in your browser on YioGames or on mobile devices, using a single set of directional inputs that moves both characters at the exact same time.

Synchronized Movement and Spatial Offsetting

Every stage in Dino Bros operates on a shared-input loop. When you press a direction, both brothers walk or jump in unison. Because the level layouts rarely align with their starting positions, moving them without a plan will cause one dinosaur to miss a platform or get stuck while the other advances.

Solving each stage requires intentional desynchronization—using the environment to change the horizontal or vertical spacing between the two characters:

  • Complete Coin Collection: The exit only activates as a win condition once every coin in the stage has been gathered. Either brother can pick up any coin.
  • Simultaneous Direction Matching: Both dinosaurs respond to the same input simultaneously; you cannot toggle between them to move one while the other stands idle in open space.
  • Wall-Pinning Offset Technique: To adjust the gap between the brothers, deliberately walk one dinosaur into a solid wall, block, or ledge while the other has open room to keep moving. The blocked brother stays stationary while the unobstructed brother changes position.
  • Height Clearance Thresholds: The physical difference between the taller pink dinosaur and the shorter yellow dinosaur is a functional puzzle mechanic. Low ceilings and tight vertical gaps may allow the yellow brother to pass underneath while blocking the taller pink brother, letting you separate their paths or use the pink dinosaur’s height cleanly on elevated steps.

When you get stuck on a stage, stop treating walls and low ceilings as hazards to avoid—treat them as alignment stops designed to lock one brother in place while you position the other for the final jump.

Platform Controls and Input Schemes

The game supports multiple input methods across desktop browsers and mobile touchscreens, allowing you to use traditional keyboard buttons or drag-and-swipe gestures.

Level Progression and Version Differences

The total number of playable stages in Dino Bros depends on which version you are playing. Official standalone mobile releases on Android and iOS feature 100 hand-made levels, whereas certain web aggregator builds include 50 levels.

The game’s release history also spans multiple milestones across platforms. While standalone mobile and portal expansions rolled out in May 2024 and September 2024, the project traces its roots back to February 2022, building upon Martin Magni’s earlier Fancade title Ditto.

Mobile Availability, Offline Play, and Monetization

Beyond instant browser play, Dino Bros is available natively on Android (via Google Play) and iOS (via the Apple App Store, where it carries a 4+ age rating). Unlike browser builds that require an active connection to load, the native mobile versions support full offline play.

Both the web and mobile versions are free to play and supported by frequent advertisements between stages. On mobile devices, players have the option to make a one-time in-app purchase to remove ads permanently.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dino Bros a 2-player multiplayer game?

No. Despite featuring two characters on screen, Dino Bros is strictly a single-player puzzle platformer. One player controls both dinosaurs simultaneously using shared inputs.

How do you separate the two dinosaurs if they move together?

You separate or realign the brothers by using level geometry as a brake. By walking one dinosaur against a wall, pillar, or step while the other has open space ahead, you change the relative distance between them.

How many levels are in Dino Bros?

Level counts vary by platform build. The official iOS and Android app versions contain 100 hand-made levels, while some browser versions feature 50 levels.

Can you play Dino Bros offline?

Yes, the native mobile versions on Android and iOS can be played completely offline without an internet connection.

What is the difference between the pink and yellow dinosaurs?

The pink dinosaur is taller and the yellow dinosaur is shorter. This height difference determines which brother can fit through low-clearance passages or get stopped by overhead obstacles.
