How We Test Games

The YioGames Verification Workflow

Browser games can break due to network restrictions, deprecated plugins, or hosting failures. To protect players from dead links and unplayable embeds, our team tests game runtimes manually before publication.

Our 6-Step Testing Workflow

  1. Manual Launch: We load the runtime directly within standard modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
  2. Frame & Sandbox Check: For external or self-hosted iframes, we confirm that security attributes allow necessary game scripts and WebGL contexts without throwing cross-origin errors.
  3. Control Verification: We test default keyboard mappings (WASD, Arrow keys, Spacebar) and mouse input to verify that actions map accurately.
  4. Mobile Touch Check: For games marked as mobile-compatible, we verify that touch inputs, virtual joysticks, or tap controls respond accurately.
  5. Status Assignment: We assign an internal runtime status:
    • WORKING — Game initializes cleanly and passes play testing.
    • PARTIAL — Playable with minor cosmetic or audio quirks noted.
    • BROKEN — Critical initialization failure; held from publication until resolved.
  6. Periodic Retesting: If players report a game failure, our team re-tests the live runtime to diagnose and address the issue.
